School of Engineering and Management
The Air Force Institute of Technology, with its main campus located at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, is the US Air Force’s leader for advanced, multi-disciplinary academic education. AFIT provides defense-focused, graduate education and related research, and initial skills training and professional continuing education to sustain the technological supremacy of America's air, space, and cyber forces. The Graduate School of Engineering and Management typically has only ~ 1000 total students enrolled. The enrollment is a mix of full-time and part-time Air and Space force military, Government civilians, defense contractors, international, and sister-Service students. We are a unique school – small, nimble, collaborative, and focused on large, complex military problems. We cooperate across Departments and engage in interdisciplinary research. Faculty are Government employees, it can be much easier to engage with defense research sponsors, and create funded projects quickly to support the operational, acquisition, and logistics communities.
