Description
Tangram Flex is seeking several Systems Engineers with 2+ years experience, particularly with Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) within the government and/or the Department of Defense domain. You will play a crucial role in supporting the design, development, implementation and sustainment of complex systems using model-based engineering principles focusing on software programs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, create and verify system models, and ensure the successful delivery of products. You will be tasked with coordinating on teams focused on delivering products and services centered around software.

POSITION DESCRIPTION //
As a System Engineer, you will support the design, development, implementation and sustainment of complex systems on software programs targeting Defense customers and applications through MBSE methodologies.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Execute Statements of Work (SOW) to satisfy ongoing, and new business requirements in alignment with contract requirements.
- Contribute to the technical execution of projects that are building and assessing systems engineering and architecture models using MBSE methodologies.
- Engage in system engineering and MBSE activities within Open Architecture groups.
- Plan, identify, prioritize, and coordinate resources required over the life of the program that requires coordination with multiple teams, external resources, and customers.
- Provide MBSE guidance and recommendations for the development and execution of products.
- Maintain a proficient level of program knowledge and application for Air Force Modeling Simulation & Analysis capabilities.
- Assist in the articulation of program requirements, costs, and schedules, for Air Force Modeling Simulation & Analysis capabilities.
- Developing and briefing data packages that provide analysis results to inform the government decision-makers.
- Conduct MBSE-based reviews and technical assessments that inform key technical decisions.
Additional:
- Work with the Government and industry vendors to deliver System Architecture views in accordance with standard frameworks such as DoDAF, UPDM, or UAF.
- Analyze, model, characterize, and document current systems addressing design approach, networks and interfaces, proprietary applications, and all other information that will support adaptation to a standard digitally modeled architecture.
- Gathering the architectural data to the sub-system level of all current platforms to develop and expand the system models, the interfacing networks, and all other such data as necessary to construct a complete and accurate system environment, using MBSE practices
Requirements
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE //
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineer, technical field, or equivalent successful experience in a similar industry role.
- Possess a current/or recent U.S. Government Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience with supporting design, development and implementation of complex systems.
- Reviewing, and evaluating technology and architectural documentation.
- Experience with SysML
- Ability to interface with customers from both a technical and programmatic context.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Hybrid/On-site - Minimum 2 Days in person at WPAFB
Preferred:
- Experience with modeling tools such as Cameo Enterprise Architecture
- Certifications in OCSMP and/or A/C/E SEP and/or INCOSE
- Interests in DoD Open Architectures.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel by air, car, or other transportation methods.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer (up to 8 hours/day).
- Ability to lift and carry lightweight items (e.g., laptops, demo equipment, marketing materials) up to 25 lbs.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, using a mouse, writing, and handling equipment.
- Visual acuity to read detailed technical documents, view computer screens, and operate software systems.
- Auditory ability to participate in meetings, customer demos, and conference calls, including in potentially noisy environments (e.g., trade shows or military facilities).
- Mobility to move between office spaces, customer sites, conference venues, and manufacturing or lab environments.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying work environments (e.g., corporate offices, government buildings, industrial or lab spaces).
