Job Summary:
The DuraLife Fire Protection Sales Engineer is responsible for leading activities to profitably increase sales and market share of DuraLife Fire Protection products through a complete understanding of the NEC and NFPA pathway survivability requirements of emergency systems and the use of circuit integrity cables within those systems. The Sales Engineer understands the technical application, installation and advantages of product to leverage position in the marketplace and develops and implements strategic sales plan consisting of a project pipeline with target accounts at all levels of the sales channel.
Location: This position is remote and covers the mid-west region of the United States. Travel is up to 50%
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a business plan that achieves market, product, and profitability goals through well-defined strategic roadmap for projects, customer accounts, engineering firms and contractors.
- Develop and manage the sales channel, including design & specifying engineers, contractors, integrators, Authorities Having Jurisdiction, third party representatives and distribution partners. Manage overall customer experience from quoting to follow-ups.
- Develop and implement sales strategies and key account plans and maintain sales pipeline to achieve both short and long-term sales goals. Report pipeline updates regularly
- Develop sales opportunities and new leads through research, cold calling and an understanding of the construction cycle to successfully influence decision-makers at all influences (owner, engineer, and contractor) to maximize sales potential.
- Cultivate interactions with large/key projects in target areas through market research. Provide project follow through from design through close of order.
- Understand the code UL 2196 and process to get a product specified in the Fire Protection Market.
- Present technical information and answer installation questions.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales and/or Engineering or 5 years proven experience in related field
- Experience in the wire and cable manufacturing or distribution business desired
- NEC and NFPA knowledge is a plus
- Must have a valid driver's license
