Company Overview

The Institute for Systems Research (http://www.isr.umd.edu) sits within the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland. It is an original NSF ERC and currently celebrates 27 years of multi-disciplinary research in cooperation with universities, government, and industry. With annual research expenditures exceeding $20M, it does interdisciplinary research and provides education in systems engineering and sciences; and devises basic solution methodologies and tools for systems problems in a variety of application domains. ISR has 38 joint appointment faculty; 27 affiliate faculty; and 8 research scientists from 4 colleges and 14 units across the University of Maryland. The Clark School's (http://www.eng.umd.edu) graduate programs collectively rank 19th in the nation according to the U.S. News & World Report "America's Best Graduate Schools 2014." The Clark School is ranked 11th in the nation among public universities. In 2013 the Academic Ranking of World Universities ranked the Clark School programs 16th in the world among all engineering programs.
